Payton!
I remember it like it was yesterday.
I read that ad that said free puppies.
So I made a call and got no answer.
So I called back later, and left a message.
The next day I got that call.
To come and take a look at the last boy dog.
He was so tiny and little I couldn’t believe it.
But I knew he’d be horse and a big pain.
So much heart and so much determination.
I could only call him Payton.
In remembrance of my hero.
A football god with a heart of gold.
He grew so fast and he got so big,
Now he is as powerful as a running back.
Everyday he runs wild with mischief in his eyes.
But never losing his loving touch and “Sweetness” personality.
Not a day has gone by that I haven’t thought about the love I have.
My best friend is a dog, and I am so very glad.
To wake up everyday next to my new hero,
Who sleeps all day, eats, and does whatever he wants to.
A dog’s life would be fine with me.
A great way to live life as happy as could be.
